River Run Plantation has a Property Owners' Association (POA) which is headed by a Board of Directors.  The plantation is a restricted community which mean that owner-members are required by Deed to adhere to the covenants on file with the Brunswick County Registrar of Deeds.  Failure to comply with these covenants can result in fines and even liens against the member's the property.  Click here to see the covenants.

Board of Directors

River Run Plantation (RRP) is governed by the Board of Directors composed of seven (7) persons (one from each of the seven stations in River Run Plantation), all of whom are members of the Association. The Board of Directors has the responsibility and powers necessary for the administration of affairs of the Association.  It is empowered by the Bylaws of River Run Plantation and is directed in it actions by the Covenants of River Run Plantation. It is an elected board. The elections held each year at the Annual Meeting, usually held in September.  For more details on the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors see "Bylaws Of River Run Plantation Property Owners Association, Inc." and "The Fourth Amended Consolidated Master Declaration and Development River Run Plantation including Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions" are available from CAMS, our property manager.    Monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month 7pm at the clubhouse.  All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.  The Board appoints members to various committees, both standing special in nature.

ARC- Architectural Review Committee

The ARC is, as the name suggests, a group of volunteers from RRP that have the responsibility of reviewing all building plans of any person or persons wishing to build, or alter existing buildings, add outside buildings, or remove trees in River Run Plantation. They are governed by the By-laws and Covenants of River Run Plantation and they report directly to the Board of Directors. For more information on the ARC, it's policies and permits, contact CAMS

 

CAMS Community Association Management Services (CAMS)

 

CAMS is River Run Plantation's management company hired by the Board of Directors to perform basic administration, financial functions and transactions on a daily basis.  CAMS collects dues, pays our bills, keeps our financial records, and represent us with our vendors, such as landscape contractors, pool maintenance, etc.  CAMS also is your contact for most administrative matters such as Membership Cards, gate codes, pool passes, keys to communities buildings, etc. CAMS are also your primary contact for information on whom to talk to on most issues in River Run Plantation. They perform a very important function in the operation of River Run Plantation. You can reach them at (910) 842-2295.

LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE

The Landscape Committee is made up of volunteers from within River Run Plantation who have an interest in the landscaping and the upkeep of River Run Plantation. They meet as situations arise, and report to the Board of Directors.  Some of the projects the Landscape Committee is involved in are:  some general clean-up;  purchasing and planting the flowerbeds at the front entrance in the fall and spring; maintaining the special plantings around the association buildings and pool; and, suggesting how the common properties can best be beautified and protected.  The committee also prepares an annual Arbor Day program.

 

GATE COMMITTEE
The Gate committee is made up of a group of volunteers who maintain, and monitor the “health” of the front gate, and the security cameras. A mechanical background is helpful, but not necessary. Call CAMS at 910-842-2295.


LIBRARY
The Library is available to all members/ residents. When borrowing a book in consideration to others, please sign and date you take the book on the "Out Sheet" and later the date when returned. Donations are welcomed as long as they are clean. Any yellowed, old books, or those (most) printed before 1995 are automatically discarded.
 

SOCIAL COMMITTEE
Comprised of volunteers who put together various social gatherings such as our Annual Christmas Party, Memorial Day Barbeque and various other theme parties during the year also they throw an Annual Yard Sale open to the public for all residents usually held in October. They oversee the clubhouse calendar of events. We also have a Red Hat Chapter called the River Run Red Hat Hotties.
 


POOL COMMITTEE
This committee is also comprised of volunteer POA members who see that necessary equipment is recommended for purchase by the Board so that members can be safe and comfortable when using the pool. The committee also recommends procedures, rules and regulations to be follow while members make use of the pool.
 


WATERFRONT COMMITTEE
Again comprised by volunteers, this committee surveys needs associated with the waterfront areas of the plantation. These include the fishing pier, the boat launch area and pier and the common areas around our many lakes and ponds.
